Watch onYouTube

This Range Fouler form - the Navy's report for an unknown object in training airspace - records a 2019 encounter over the eastern United States. It was released in PURSUE Release 04 with 20 seconds of infrared video (DOW-UAP-PR112).

The observer wrote: "In between mission sorties, I noticed an object with flight characteristics unlike anything I had seen in my 28 years of performing for the USAF and Navy. A small object was below us and appeared to be traveling in a straight line opposite our direction at high speed." They tracked it for about 10-15 seconds; on zooming in, "the object's speed took [it] out of my FOV and I was unable to reacquire, even at a lower zoom. Upon analysis after the flight, the object appeared to be rectangular. Others with equal or more experience were also unsure as to what this object might be."

Note from AARO's own description: the infrared sensor was aboard a civilian aircraft in 2019, not a military jet. AARO's video notes say the object exits the frame to the left as the sensor changes zoom and display mode, followed by white flashes from settings changes. The case is unresolved.

Narrative (observer's own words)

In between mission sorties, I noticed an object with flight characteristics unlike anything I had seen in my 28 years of performing for the USAF and Navy. Where It Happened

Full Transcript

2019, over the eastern United States. Between mission sorties, a pilot with twenty eight years behind him with the Air Force and the Navy notices something below the aircraft.

This is the infrared video. A small object, in a straight line, going the opposite direction, at high speed.

His words on the Navy's Range Fouler form: flight characteristics unlike anything I had seen in my twenty eight years.

He tracked it for ten to fifteen seconds. When he zoomed in for a better look, its speed took it right out of the frame. He never got it back.

Reviewing the video after the flight, the object appeared to be rectangular. Others with equal or more experience were also unsure what it might be.

One detail from the Pentagon's own notes: the camera was on a civilian aircraft, not a military jet.

It's listed as unresolved. Search Case D-90 at ufodata.org. Subscribe to UFO Data.
